About me

I am an undergraduate student at University of Wisconsin Whitewater.  I studied Physics and Mathematics for 2.5 years before switching my major to Computer Science with Physics as my minor.  I served as the Physics Student Representative on the Dean's Council of Advisors during the 2019-2020 school year, as well as well as the elected President of the UWW Society of Physics Students from Spring 2019 through Fall 2020.

During my time as a Physics Major I was involved in a number of research projects through UWW's Research Apprenticeship Program and their Undergraduate Research Program.  While working as the Outreach Assistant for UWW Science outreach, I helped host a number of programs including public observatory nights and the World's Longest Glowstick.

My Interests are often close to those of my areas of study,  Earlier in 2022 I took a trip down to Texas to sightseeing locations including SpaceX's Boca Chica Starbase and Tesla's new Gigafactory Austin.  It was a very inspiring adventure, and I loved seeing these major technological advancements in person.

I am a huge fan of astronomy, and enjoy observing our universe in multiple ways.   In addition to naked eye stargazing, I've been fortunate enough to be able to utilize University resources to explore my passion.  I thoroughly enjoyed being able to use their various large reflecting telescopes to see celestial bodies with my own eyes.  My favorite was seeing the rings of Saturn, imagining the photons bouncing off them and traveling all the way to earth and enter my eyes.

I also got to work with more sophisticated instruments and their data.  As part of one of my research projects, I worked with a professor and another student analyzing data from the Wisconsin H-Alpha Mapper; a diffuse optical imaging telescope based in Chili.  The project was put on hold due to Covid, but I am looking forward to finishing the work and hopefully being included in a published scientific paper!
